The trucking industry has experienced great consolidation in the last 10 years. The Nightly Quill has noticed hundreds if not thousands of trucking companies close up shop or be scooped up by larger trucking firms. These new large conglomerates require a continual fresh influx of drivers (inexperienced) to keep freight moving. Unfortunately the pace at which they need drivers is shorter than the length of time required for proper training to drive these rigs. (I speak from personal experience) This is what happens:
